What Your HEC Does for you
The Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you could tell this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
Luke 17:6
The Harrisville Economic Council is a non profit organization that considers it their mission to provide the great town of Harrisville with economic growth and development through serving their community. We believe with a heart of service and faith like a mustard seed, our community will only continue to grow.
Currently our largest initiative is the Harrisville Community Park Beautification Project. We have accomplished many projects in our park and with patrons like you, our efforts can continue!
Our 2024 Accomplishments
2015-2017
Updating Paint
Thanks to many members within our community, we were able to update the paint on much of the playground equipment. Painting is one of our projects usually reserved for Park Beautification days. Some Harrisville Economic Council members, like Thomas Stone, even visited the park on his days off to complete as much of the painting project as possible.
2011-2014
Picnic Table Update
One of our biggest Park Beautification goals this year was updating replacing the wood on our picnic tables. These tables desperately needed a facelift! Thanks to our dedicated members, these tables are ready to host the families of Harrisville. A big thank you to Terry Orders, Roy Jennings, and Timmothy Jennings!
2007-2010
Awning Replacement
Let's be honest, those awnings were an eye sore! We were so excited to replace these old awnings with fresh new ones! A special thank you to Kathy Ward, Nicole Smith, and Rich Mayfield.
So many of our members have endured hot Saturday mornings pouring their sweat into our wonderful community park. No job is too little and no member is too small! We encourage you to come visit us during Park Beautification! Encourage your children to participate! Harrisville Economic Council members believe in allowing our children to participate in the work. We feel that this service gives the next generation an understanding in caring for their community. School aged children needing community service hours can also receive those by participating!
